Well, if we were to give away all of our secrets, they wouldn't be so secret, right?! ...That said, maybe this is our Not-So-Secret Sauce, which means its difficult to achieve but refreshingly "un-secret." In fact, the recipe goes back thousands of years, to Biblical times.
We never want to lose the secret sauce the Lord has given us: providing high quality, welcoming, engaging environments that overcome broad negative biases towards faith or religion, and offer adults a high caliber opportunity to truly discover what brings them more fully alive, more purposeful in life, at confident peace with the Lord, and more able to serve the ones they love and lead at home, work, play, and service.
Yes, that was a mouthful, so as the the sportscasters say, "Let's break it down:"
Providing...
High Quality...
Welcoming...
Engaging environments...
Overcome broad negativity...
Negative bias towards faith or religion...
Offer adults a high caliber opportunity to truly discover...
What brings them more fully alive...
More purposeful in life...
At confident peace...
With the Lord...
More able to serve the ones they love and lead at home...
At work...
At play...
And in service...
As a homework exercise (yes, this is a group participation thing, you didn't think you could grow through just one-way reading, did you?!), please reflect and consider these 15 components of the Insignia Secret Sauce. Perhaps filter your thoughts and discernments through these lenses:
**How many of these are components of life (or the roots of 'em) that I wish for, long for, seek to practice? Does this describe "how I roll?"
**How many of these components are a part of what attracts me to other leaders, role models, or even friends?
**There were no Bible verses in that list; are there pieces of Biblical wisdom I can see in there?
**How would I evaluate myself as being known for these? (12 of 15, 5 of 15, zero?!)
**What trips me up, or throws me off my game, such I'm not the kind of witness for our Lord that I seek to be?
More to come on this...it's part of the journey of becoming those better versions of ourselves. -Doug
