I invite you today to take a few moments to enjoy a concert of scripture. Here are several verses which make up the foundation of Insignia’s ministry style, presented without references or explanations. I encourage you to try to hear them afresh. Please read slowly, and take a breath between each one!

· “He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the Day of Christ.”

· “Walk in wisdom towards those who are outside…”

· “Christ in you, the Hope of Glory…”

· “We were well-pleased to impart not only the gospel but our very lives, because you had become so dear to us.”

· “You are the salt of the earth, the light of the world.”

· “They’ll know you are my disciples, by your love for one another.”

· “Love your neighbor as yourself…”

· “You shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”

· “They’ll know you are my disciples, by your love for one another.”

· “Love your neighbor as yourself…”

· “This mystery has been kept in the dark for a long time, but now it’s out in the open. God wanted everyone to know this rich and glorious secret inside and out, regardless of their background, regardless of their religious standing. The mystery in a nutshell is just this: Christ is in you, so therefore you can look forward to sharing in God’s glory. It’s that simple…To be mature is to be basic. Christ! No more, no less. That’s what I’m working so hard at, day after day, year after year, doing my best with the energy God so generously gives me.”

· "Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

How was that? Yes, these verses are drawn from various Bible translations. Perhaps you recognized some? Were a few of them new to you? …It’s different, isn’t it, to hear the scriptures without additional prose or commentary? And without the chapter and verse references? That is how the early saints heard them originally, long before the headings and organizational chapters and verses were added for reference purposes. Were you able to connect the methodologies and practices you’ve seen in our ministries with what you have just read?

I encourage you to reflect on these from time to time. For all that we do to help our ministry events feel natural, casual, and somewhat spontaneous, there is quite a bit of Biblical foundation to almost every little component and detail. We will explore and develop each of these more in the coming weeks.
